Daily Discipleship Lesson

Temptation - it begins with a desire by Authentic Walk Ministries

Temptation does not occur simply because we have a desire, for we have many desires which come and then go away as fast as they came.† Rather temptation happens when those desires are not just a fleeting idea but one that captures us, one where we say, "yes, that would be good".† And by good I do not mean a right thing to do but we perceive it as good for me even as Eve perceived the fruit to be both† good and pleasing (Gen 3:6) for her.† This is where the rationalization begins for one is not thinking so much about what really is good but simply what would be "good" for me at this very present moment.
